What is Knetwit?

Knetwit allows you to upload, share and market your knowledge in any subject. Anytime one of your files is viewed, you earn money. Through Study Groups you can collaborate with other users on virtually any topic.

Is Knetwit free?

Knetwit is absolutely free to use, uploads, downloads and searches are all free.

How do I create an account?

You are welcome to explore Knetwit and get a feel how it all works before entering any information at all. You can check out notes and their comments, see who uses our site; take a look at recent activities, and more without having to register. If you wish to download a note or begin uploading notes to earn money, you will be prompted to enter some simple information about you. Once you have registered, you will receive an email with a confirmation link. It’s that simple.

I’m having trouble logging into my account.

If you have not verified your email address then check your inbox or junk folder for an email from admin@knetwit.com and click on the link in the email. If your username and password are incorrect, try resetting your password. You can do this by clicking the “Problems Logging In?” link on the Home Page and following the instructions. If this does not fix the problem then email admin@knetwit.com with your username, password and email address you used to verify the account.

What is Koin and how do I earn it?

There are many ways to earn Koin on Knetwit. Koin is Knetwit’s currency and is redeemable at the Knetwit store. Knetwit is built on sharing. Users share their notes with others, Knetwit shares its revenue with you. Koin can be redeemed at the Knetwit store for product or cash. Cash is redeemed via a valid PayPal account, details of which can be entered in your personal profile.

How do I UPLOAD files to Knetwit?

Uploading files is easy, just click the ³Upload Notes² tab on the top of the site and follow the three simple steps. First, select the course or Study Group you are uploading notes for. Second, browse your computer for the files you want to upload. Third, fill out the information so other Knetwit users can find your file and hit the upload button.

What is a Study Group?

A Study Group is a collaborative area where you may meet up with others and share notes about any topic you wish. These groups are designed for anybody with knowledge; not just students. Anybody can create a public or private Study Group and upload notes directly to it. Study Groups also allow the uploading of private files that retain their file format, do not show up in searches, and do not earn Koin. Private Files may only be accessed by group members, so, for example, if you and your classmates are working on a project, you may use Knetwit Study Groups to work on it together without others seeing your work.

What format of notes can I upload on Knetwit?

Knetwit currently accepts the following file extensions:

  • .pdf

  • .jpg
  • .jpeg
  • .gif

We have plans to include additional file types, and will notify you as soon as they become available.

How do I search for notes on Knetwit?

To find notes on Knetwit, simply click the “Find Notes” tab on the top of the site. Then, choose a course or subject you need notes for, or just type in a keyword.

Can I get in trouble for using somebody else’s class notes?

You are free to use any material on Knetwit as a resource to aid your studies. However, Knetwit does not condone plagiarism or cheating of any kind. Please refer to your school's student handbook for specific rules your school enforces regarding the sharing of notes. I can¹t find my school on Knetwit. If you can¹t find your school, click here to add your school. If you can¹t add your school, please click the Support link to report that your school is missing and we will be happy to add it to Knetwit as soon as we can.

How do I change my personal information?

To change your personal information, go to the home page and click on the “Edit Profile” link beneath your picture. Fill out or change any of the information you wish, and finish by clicking the large green “Submit” button on the bottom of the page.

How do I change my email address?

To change your email address, go to the home page and click on the “Edit Profile” link beneath your picture. Change the email address in the first field to your desired email address, and finish by clicking the large green “Submit” button on the bottom of the page.

I forgot my password.

To change your password, go to the home page and click on the “Edit Profile” link beneath your picture. Click the “Change Password” link, fill in the new information, and finish by clicking the large green “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.

How do I report a copyright violation?

We take copyright violation very seriously at Knetwit. If you see that somebody has posted a file that contains somebody else’s work, please click the Report Abuse link at the bottom of the website and explain how the file in question violates copyright. Thank you for support in helping to keep Knetwit a clean community.

Where do I Report Abuse and Inappropriate Content?

Someone on Knetwit is bugging/harassing/threatening me - what can I do about it?

If you feel you and/or someone you know are in danger, contact law enforcement immediately. If somebody is leaving harassing or inappropriate messages on your profile or on the comments section of your notes, please click the Report Abuse link to report any offence you feel necessary.

I can’t find my school on Knetwit.

If you can’t find your school, click here to add your school. If you can’t add your school, please click the Support link to report that your school is missing and we will be happy to add it to Knetwit as soon as we can.

Why do I want to join a school?

If you want to post notes on Knetwit.com for a specific class, you must first join the school that the notes are providing knowledge for. For instance, if you want to post notes for your history course at Harvard University, you must first join Harvard University as one of your schools on Knetwit. If you can¹t find your school, please click the Support link to report that your school is missing and we will be happy to add it to Knetwit as soon as we can. If you do not go to school you can just create a Study Group or find a pre-existing Study Group to join. These groups are not necessarily school specific or even school related.. If you can’t find your school, please click the Support link to report that your school is missing and we will be happy to add it to Knetwit as soon as we can.

Why do I want to join a Course or a Study Group?

If you want to upload notes on Knetwit, you must first join the school and the course or the Study Group that the notes relate to. For instance, if you want to upload notes for your history course at Harvard University, you must first join Harvard University as one of your schools on Knetwit and then join the course that the notes have to do with. Joining the courses that you are currently taking at school will make it easier for you to search for the notes you need because Knetwit pre-fills the search criteria with the courses you¹ve joined. If you have notes for a topic, like soccer, then you may upload them to an existing Study Group or one that you¹ve created.

How do I add a course to a school?

If you course does not yet exist on Knetwit, please add the course to the system by clicking the link below Step 1 on the ³Upload Notes² page. Or, if the notes you want to upload don¹t have to do with school, just create a Study Group on the topic you wish to upload notes about.

What is the search bar on the home page for?

The search bar is a quicker, more convenient way to find what you are looking for on Knetwit. If you know the keyword or name of what you are looking for, the search bar is the fastest way to find it.

What is user level?

The user level allows you to set yourself apart from other people on Knetwit. By doing things such as uploading quality notes and inviting your friends to Knetwit, using our ³Invite Friends² tab, you earn Knowledge Points and Community Points, which are shown on your Home Page under User Statistics. Your level increases at various thresholds as your points increase.

Why do I care about my user level?

Your user level is very important; as it reaches higher levels your benefits on Knetwit increase. These benefits will include discounts on items in the Knetwit Store, entry into special contests that can earn money, and also receiving additional credits at the end of the day! Please expect to see this functionality in the near future.

What is my profile for?

Your profile allows you to explain, in your own words, who you are and why other users will want to download your work. It is also a fun way to put a face to the person who uploaded those great, helpful notes.

How do I edit the info on my profile?

To change your personal information, go to the home page and click on the “Edit Profile” link beneath your picture. Fill out or change any of the information you see there, and finish by clicking the large green “Go” button on the bottom of the page.

What is my Knetwork for?

If you find somebody on Knetwit who uploads great work and it would be useful to quickly search for their new uploads, you can add them as to your “Knetwork”. Once somebody is in your Knetwork, you can quickly access his or her profile from your Home Page, post comments on their profile page, and access all of the files they have uploaded.
